In order to get the most out of your collections, it’s more important to redeem your points. Not to mention that it’s one of the most exciting parts of being in a Brigade!
TerraCycle issues checks twice a year once in December and once in June:
You have to redeem your points between May 1st and October 31st in order to receive a check in December and you have to redeem your points any time between November 1st and April 30th if you wish to receive a check in June.
Since there’s a lot going on when you redeem points, we’re going to split this into two posts for you. First, we’ll give you the general step by step, and then next week, we’ll let you know some tips and tricks that will make redeeming as easy as possible.
Step by step: How to Redeem Your Points
1. After you login to your account page, click on the “REDEEM” button, located on the left side of the page.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Donate to your designated charity.”
a. From the drop down list, choose one (1) of your preferred charities
b. In the box where it says “1000,” write how many points you would like to redeem towards that charity (do not include any commas).
3. Click the blue “REDEEM” button. You will only be able to redeem the “current” balance and it must be at least 1,000 points ($10.00).
4. Confirm the quantity of points you are redeeming, and click “Checkout.”
You will see a blue box on your homepage that says TerraCycle is emailing you a confirmation. Make sure you receive it (if you don’t see it, check junk or spam mail), and your charity will receive their check during one of the 2 disbursement periods.
If you’d like to redeem for more than one charity, you will have to repeat the process for as many charities as you’d like to donate to.
