Have you ever finished a bag of cheese and didn’t want to throw the bag away because you didn’t want it to go a landfill, but you didn’t know what to do with it?  Well, even if you haven’t felt like that, do you like DIY projects?  You can combine helping the environment and your love for DIY projects with TGI…DIY!

Each Friday, TerraCycle will post a new DIY project that uses items that are considered waste.  The first project is a necklace made out of Kraft Cheese wrappers.  A PDF with instructions and pictures will be posted to TerraCycle’s Facebook page and a video tutorial will be posted to TerraCycle’s YouTube channel.

Links to the tutorial and PDF will also be available on Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.  These DIY projects are perfect to do with kids or on your own; they’re easy and fun to do.  A great thing about these projects is that you don’t have to buy anything to create these awesome crafts!  You can find everything you need at home.  The tutorial is there to help you get started, but you don’t have to follow it if you don’t want to.  If you want to make a bracelet out the Kraft Cheese wrappers, instead of a necklace, go for it!  Be creative!  TGI…DYI is there to help you think outside of the box.  Once you start doing these DIY projects, you’ll never look at waste the same way again!
