Did you know that your school can win prizes for the beverage cans and bottles it is already recycling? Start the school year off strong by signing up for PepsiCo’s Recycle Rally. Thanks to their partnership with TerraCycle, the PepsiCo Recycle Rally is coming to more K-12 schools than ever before. You can sign up to earn cash, raise awareness in your community, and educate students about the importance of environmentalism and sustainability.

Getting young people excited about sustainability and environmental issues can take a bit of strategy. With PepsiCo’s Recycle Rally, engaging students through gamified aspects like an online tracking system and regular promotions and challenges feels like fun, keeping students immersed in the program and, therefore, in recycling.

Once a school signs up, educators can easily access lesson plans and begin self-reporting recycling efforts. Resources such as art projects, educational resources and materials, and progress tracking tools, allow educators to introduce younger minds to recyclingand promote their school’s achievements. Schools have the chance to earn cash prizes ranging from $10 to $1000, and students take away a wealth of knowledge.

Recycling can be cool when we find motivations for environmentalism that are positive and exciting. Another fun fact: PepsiCo was featured on an episode of TerraCycle’s reality television show Human Resources (Episode #308 TITLE: D.A.R.S.H.A.N.) on Pivot TV Network on October 14, which showcased gamified recycling bins in action. Imagine a recycling bin that offers compliments when you recycle your bottle or can!

Since 2010, Recycle Rally schools have recycled over 65 million beverage cans and bottles and received over $1 million in cash and prizes from PepsiCo. Join over 3000 schools in the recycling movement!
