America Recycles Day, founded by Keep America Beautiful and celebrated every November 15 through various recycling initiatives all across the United States, is the nation’s only nationally recognized day dedicated to appreciating the beautiful world we live in and promoting recycling. One unique recycling activity that celebrates KAB’s America Recycles Day is PepsiCo Recycle Rally. All over America, PepsiCo Recycling has created massive impact through Recycle Rally: the K-12 school initiative challenging young people to recycle and engage with their communities. Since 2010, over 5,000 K-12 schools have participated and recycled more than 100 million bottles and cans and received portions of greater than $1.5 million in prizes. Because of its kid-friendly nature, this program is able to be successful on numerous fronts by boosting credibility among consumers, engaging children and reducing waste.

Further, KAB’s own Recycle-Bowl, the recycling and food scrap collection challenge for K-12 students and school communities, this year partners with PepsiCo Recycling for a second time so participants in the Recycle-Bowl can also take part in PepsiCo’s Recycle Rally.

Not only does PepsiCo Recycle Rally engage on America Recycles Day, but it is also an active program year round. Participants can also connect to a national recycling effort and gain access to educational materials, creative goal-trackers, and helpful tips and tools to make recycling fun and exciting.
