Here are the week’s winners:
1. Kew Riverside Primary School Community on Facebook – United Kingdom
To make it even easier for their community to recycle, this school ramped up their efforts by adding another collection box to their public drop-off location in a small supermarket. Great way to encourage people to drop off food packages the same place they buy groceries!
2. Samuel Slu Model on Facebook – France
Samuel and this family shared their recycling tip and Wednesday activity tip for children in this Facebook group encouraging people to create their own small collection box with a slot from a any delivery box.
Then, children can decorate it with signage to inform, educate, and enhance, and collectors can easily drop off their items to send to TerraCycle for recycling!
3. Nanning Green Life Social Work Centre on Weibo – China
As part of a garbage sorting campaign at a community event, organizers taught children how to correctly classify / sort garbage and how TerraCycle waste fits within that. Using interactive mini games to make it fun, the group collected 10 kilograms (over 22 pounds!) of oral care items from the event!
On June 12, the Hsinchu Community Neighborhood Committee in Qingxiu District of Nanning City, together with the Green Life Social Work Service Center of Nanning City, launched a garbage classification campaign in the middle school of Minzu Avenue, Nanning City. Green Life Social Worker introduced the importance of garbage classification to students with simple and vivid language and interactive mini games. In the final waste recycling activities, children from ethnic primary and middle schools recovered a total of about 10kg of oral care waste supplies. He/they practiced garbage classification with practical actions, contributing to waste reduction and beautifying the environment!
