Interested in getting your community to recycle more? You can start your own TerraCycle public drop-off point and get your community to recycle through TerraCycle’s free recycling programs!
It’s simple to start and manage a drop-off point. As the administrator, you’ll choose the location, select which free recycling programs to participate in, manage your drop-off point, and send your trash to TerraCycle to be recycled.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to starting a public drop-off point:

1. Update your information
Sign in to your TerraCycle account and click “Basic Information.” Then, edit your profile with your public drop-off point’s information. Update your organization’s name, type, and hours of operation (that your public drop-off point will be accessible), and complete all fields.

2. Join programs as a drop-off point
Browse our eligible free recycling programs and click on “become a drop-off point” for the program(s) you’re interested in.

3. Receive confirmation
We’ll review your request to join according to the type of program. Please double-check the program’s criteria, as certain public drop-off points require specific fields to become eligible, such as programs being only open to pet care centers, retail centers, etc.

4. Start recycling
Once approved, your location will be added to the public map so people can find your drop-off point and start recycling!

Starting a public-drop off point in your community is a great way to encourage your community members to recycle trash that would otherwise end up in landfills. You’ll earn TerraCycle Recycling Reward points for all the trash you send in, which can be donated to a charity, non-profit, or school of your choice. Get started and become a public drop-off point today!
